Edmonton Futsal League: Scottish Dominates Spartan 21-1

In a high-paced futsal showdown, Edmonton Scottish proved too much for Spartan FC, winning 21-1. The match, held at 10:00 AM, was packed with action, and while Spartan fought hard, Scottish’s relentless offense left little room for any counterattacks.

At the start of the game, Scottish’s Dexter Maclachlan wasted no time, scoring in the 3rd minute after an earlier shot had gone off target. Just two minutes later, teammate Tyler Gerhard doubled the lead with a brilliant strike in the 5th minute. Spartan responded soon after, with Saleh Mohamed testing the goalkeeper with a shot on target in the 8th minute. However, Scottish's attack was relentless, and in the 15th minute, they scored three quick goals. Francesco Guido, Matthew Easaw, and Tyler Gerhard added to the scoreline, making it 6-0.

Spartan’s Ibrahem Abdelmalek finally got his side on the board with a stunning goal in the 41st minute. But by that point, the game was well out of reach. Meanwhile, Scottish continued to dominate with goals from Maclachlan (17’, 19’, 23’, 26’, 33’, 46’), Gerhard (5’, 16’, 46’), Guido (16’, 39’, 43’, 44’), Borrett (22’), and Mirabelli (36’, 38’).

In the second half, the action was fast and furious. Justin Demers registered a shot on target in the 24th minute, but it was Scottish’s offensive machine that kept pushing forward. Jaedon Newlands made it 10-0 with a goal in the 30th minute, and Massimo Mirabelli’s two goals in the 36th and 38th minutes showed no sign of slowing down. Francesco Guido, not to be outdone, found the net again in the 39th, 43rd, and 44th minutes.

As the final whistle blew, the scoreboard read 21-1, with Scottish’s goal-scoring spree making it one of the most dominant performances of the season. Despite the heavy loss, Spartan kept fighting until the end, and Ibrahem Abdelmalek’s lone goal was a bright spot in an otherwise difficult match.

Scottish’s attacking depth and sharp execution were on full display, with Maclachlan and Gerhard leading the charge. Spartan will look to regroup and bounce back in their next match, while Scottish continues their quest for futsal supremacy in the Edmonton League.
